Klimahaus, Bremerhaven

If you’ve got no time or money for travelling around the globe – try the Klimahaus in Bremerhaven, Germany. It is a museum located in a futuristic building within the Havenwelten complex educating about the impact of humans on the planet. It was opened in 2009 by the Irish musician Bob Geldof. The biggest section is a journey along the 8th degree of longitude east, the other two areas are called perspectives and chances. Windstärke 10

Windstärke 10, Cuxhaven

The “Windstärke 10” is a maritime museum in Cuxhaven, Germany – telling stories about the fishing industry and ship wrecks. It is located in a nice building close to the harbour but doesn’t contain too many exhibits. It has been created in 2013 as a combination of two former museums. Tyrannosaurus rex

Dinosaurs, Naturkundemuseum, Berlin

The Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin, Germany is a natural history museum that was opened in 1889. It is one of the biggest natural history museums in Germany with a vast collection – even though the public exhibition area is rather small. After entering the building you will find a room with dinosaurs – especially a Brachiosaurus and a Giraffatitan. Technology everywhere

Deutsches Technikmuseum, Berlin

The Deutsches Technikmuseum in Berlin, Germany is a vast technology museum close to the station “Gleisdreieck” – it can be best accessed via subway. It consists of different buildings: the entrance building with a plane (“Rosinenbomber“) is connected to the main building, a park and two engine sheds. Royal Museum

Scottish National Museum / Royal Museum, Edinburgh

It is a playground for old and young: the National Museum of Scotland or Royal Museum in Edinburgh, Scotland is a fantastic museum of natural history, technology and art. It is not the biggest one I’ve ever seen but it consistently includes elements to play and have fun. It was opened in 1888 and can be visited free of charge. Continue reading “Royal Museum”
