At a street connecting Wilhelmshöher Allee and Königstor – the Hermannstraße (an area of Kassel, Germany where I wouldn’t really expect a bar) – you can find the HermannS. It is a mix of a modern cocktail bar and a folksy inn. They’ve got a rather large outdoor area and you can get good food and drinks.

If you’re coming to the Nordstadt auf Kassel, Germany you should plan a stop at the Café Hurricane north of the university and close to the Nordstadtpark. They’ve got seats in a winter garden and outside next to the street where you can watch the hustle and bustle. As I learned the Café Hurricane is well-known for two things: breakfast and börek.

The latest insider tip if you want to combine good drinks with perfect views on the city of London, United Kingdom is the Sky Garden. It is a garden in the glassy top floor of the building 20 Fenchurch Street that is called walkie-talkie by the locals because of its shape. Within the Sky Garden you will find a bar and a restaurant. It’s a brewery and a large restaurant serving not only craft beer but also great and very priceworthy food.

At Podgorica, Montenegro Germans have the chance to cure that – because of the nice hotel, bar and restaurant called ‘Marienplatz‘ (named after that famous place at München, Germany). The Sky Tower is my most favorite place for watching sundown and having a drink at Tirana, Albania. It is a skyscraper at the city quarter Blloku and located close to the Rinia park and the river Lana. You can easily find it as it has a rotating restaurant on top that turns 360 degrees within an hour. If you want to dine there you should reserve in advance, but there is also a reservation-free bar on the top level.

The Mercato Metropolitano is a wonderful food court at Elephant & Castle, London. You can sit inside or outside and get drinks and food from numerous small shops. From burgers via Spätzle and burritos to gyoza. Everything that your heart might desire – and as a surplus they claim to be sustainable.

It sounds much more erotic than it really is: the bar Hot Legs at Kassel, Germany. This venue was once decorated with the legs of display dummies – and therefore it received its name. Today it is just a nice and a little bit shabby bar at the Friedrich-Ebert-Straße, neighboring other party locations. Here they show major sports events and on Wednesdays you can often listen to live music.
