Las dunas de Putú (and why I will never forget them)

Las dunas de Putú, Chile

It was a nice day in November and I was driving with my Renault Samsung S3 (I didn’t even know that such a car exists) from Talca to Concepción, Chile. On my way I wanted to have a stop at the dunes of Putú (las dunas de Putú) – a wide area of sand dunes close to the sea. It is supposed to look like the Sahara, but I’ve never found out, because I never arrived there.

Eduardo Vargas, Brazil and a friendly family

Reloj de flores, Viña del Mar

My second stop in Chile was Viña del Mar, a spa town close to Santiago de Chile and a destination for its inhabitants in summer time. Birthday at the Prince Islands

Sultan Ahmet Parkı, Istanbul

Istanbul, Turkey came into my mind because I’ve never been there, it was easy and cheap to reach, full of history and also the only city on two continents (Europe and Asia). On the other hand – after booking – there were protests in the city center that were violently struck down by state authorities.

In Bruges

Bruges, Belgium

I went to Bruges, Belgium as part of my roadtrip in 2012 and was really enchanted by the wonderful atmosphere of the city. I didn’t have too many sights on my list and simple walked through the enlightened city at night and along the canals – giving the city center a feeling of Venice, Italy or Amsterdam, the Netherlands – in daytime.
