Neckarstadion

The Neckarstadion (today also called Mercedes-Benz-Arena) is home to the VfB Stuttgart and the heart of the Neckarpark – an entertainment area within Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt where the Cannstatter Wasen (a festival in autumn) takes place and you can find various concert halls and museums.

The stadium has been finished in 2011 and is too big for the quality of soccer played here these days, so you can always get a ticket for the matches of the VfB if you want to. Watching soccer here is always nice, because the stadium is of good architecture. If you are in the home stands, you need a specific pre-payed card to buy drinks – in the away stands you can pay by cash, but you should not try to a get a beer in the half-time break. You won’t be back in time.

Getting to the Neckarstadion is quite easy: There is a tramway going from Stuttgart main station to a station labeled NeckarPark (Stadion).
