Weltvogelpark, Walsrode

In my youth it was impossible to go by car through Lower Saxony and not to here the radio advertisement for the “Vogelpark Walsrode” with its iconic jingle. But we never went to the biggest bird park in the world in the Lüneburg Heath, located near Walsrode, Germany. Now was the time for that and the park created in 1962 is definitely worth a visit, even though you will find some deterioration here and there. Continue reading “Watching birds”

Déjà-vû

Déjà-vû, Göttingen

In every party night in Göttingen, Germany there comes the point in time where they play the last song in your favorite disco and you still don’t want to go home. In my youth we typically grabbed a kebab at Efes and took the last drink at the only suitable destination for that: the Déjà-vû. Timberjacks

Timberjacks, Göttingen

The Timberjacks is a new restaurant in the outskirts of Göttingen, Germany – close to the Kasseler Landstraße and the Kaufpark. It is like a Cafe del Sol for meat lovers – totally oriented towards people arriving by car. With plenty of parking lots and even though there is a bus stop close-by there isn’t even a foot path to the restaurant. Continue reading “Timberjacks”
