The Irish Pub is one of my favourite bars in Göttingen, Germany. In the summer a nice beer garden invites you to enjoy a Guinness, Strongbow or Cider under the trees within the center of the town. When the weather conditions are bad or in the evenings, there are two floors inside with a dark but very hospitable atmosphere.

Well, Offenbach isn’t the most beautiful place in the world. But if you need a beer or a coffee close to the river Main, have the children entertained by a big sandbox and a playground with a ship, the Hafen 2 might be right. The place offers a café, a bar, an outdoor cinema and a concert stage.

The ‘Waterloo’ is a beergarden quite close to the city center of Hannover, Germany – next to the river Leine, the market hall and the parliament of Lower Saxony. There are three reasons why you might visit this place: (1) You are in need of fresh air and a good beer, (2) you want to watch soccer games of the Bundesliga on screen, or (3) you are on your way to the Niedersachsenstadion for watching live soccer and have a break. To get there you can take the tramway to the station also called Waterloo.

During my stay in New York the quarter and semi finals of the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil where held. That is why I was looking for a bar showing the games of the German soccer team (“Die Mannschaft“, as it is called in the States). Easily I found the “Zum Schneider“, a Bavarian beergarden and restaurant in the East Village of New York.

Within the district ‘Wilhelmshöhe‘ of Kassel, Germany, you can find the brewery ‘Zum Rammelsberg’ – a small brewery with good food and a nice beer garden. In fact, they are serving beer of Kassels Hütt brewery (located in Baunatal!) which is only available in northern Hesse. A ‘Hütt naturtrüb‘ (unfiltered) is always a good choice!
