Bennets bar
It is one of these wonderful dark pubs with old furniture in Edinburgh, Scotland: Bennets bar in the Leven Street, opened in 1839. They offer a wide range of whiskies, ales and some Scottish meals. If you’re unsure what spirit to choose – the barkeeper knows best and can recommend the right drink for you. One of these places with a special atmosphere I could spend hours in. Beer tasting
We went through the city center of Edinburgh, Scotland to find a highly-recommended bar close to the university – only to find it closed. But luckily next to it Andrew Usher & Co., a student bar with many different beers on tap was open. In every party night in Göttingen, Germany there comes the point in time where they play the last song in your favorite disco and you still don’t want to go home. In my youth we typically grabbed a kebab at Efes and took the last drink at the only suitable destination for that: the Déjà-vû. Last night in exile
Once upon a time there was a famous rock music club in Göttingen, Germany: the “Outpost“. It was indeed an outpost in an industrial zone of the city. The Amavi
This area of Göttingen, Germany was once a black spot: the “Güterbahnhofstraße” was known for just two things – the freight terminal (including cargo-based traffic on road and rail) and the red-light district. Everything changes over time, the area was developed and one of the buildings close to the tracks has been refurbished and now hosts an Italian restaurant, bar and discotheque: the “Amavi“.

Herz über Kopf
Shops come and go in the inner city center of Hann. Münden, Germany. The town is mostly frequented by day tourists during summertime and that is why some shops within the side streets have to fight to survive. The tavern “Letzter Heller” (“Last haler“) is an inn and restaurant close to Hann. Münden, Germany. It is located at the place where the stream “Ilksbach” runs into the river “Werra” – today easily findable because of the hydro-electric power plant in front and the motorway and train bridge above. Monkey bar
Everything changed at the railway station “Berlin Zoologischer Garten” as the long-distance trains started to miss this place and to stop at the new main railway station of Berlin, Germany. When I returned here after a few years of absence, I didn’t recognize where I am at the beginning. The most ugly buildings have been rebuilt and event the public spaces have changed pretty much.
