Everything changed at the railway station “Berlin Zoologischer Garten” as the long-distance trains started to miss this place and to stop at the new main railway station of Berlin, Germany. When I returned here after a few years of absence, I didn’t recognize where I am at the beginning. The most ugly buildings have been rebuilt and event the public spaces have changed pretty much.
When asking for a good bar and restaurant close-by the answer was always the same. That’s why we visited the Monkey bar next to the Europa Center and the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche. When you enter the sky bar you can sit close to the huge windows and look into the zoological garden; and there is even a roof terrace.
Visitors of the bar sit on stairs directed towards the zoo; so this looks like a bunch of monkeys sitting on a small hill. And with the zoological garden in front of you the question arises: which side is inside? And which is outside? 😉
