The Amavi

This area of Göttingen, Germany was once a black spot: the “Güterbahnhofstraße” was known for just two things – the freight terminal (including cargo-based traffic on road and rail) and the red-light district. Everything changes over time, the area was developed and one of the buildings close to the tracks has been refurbished and now hosts an Italian restaurant, bar and discotheque: the “Amavi“.

The Grimaldi family, well known for their restaurant “Fellini” (also recommendable!), opened this place in the triangular of city center, university and railway station. They serve very well Italian food (antipasti, pasta, focaccia) in a modern, very stylish environment. It is definitely worth the detour.
