We came to Sardegna at the end of September and besides the natural beauty of the island, the many nuraghe and caves there were no big tourist highlights open – at least not in the south of the island. All water parks were already closed. But one nice location for children was still open: the theme park Sardegna in miniatura at Tuili, Italy – not far away from Barumini. You can find more than a handful of nuraghe on the island of Sardegna – but the biggest one is the Nuraghe Arrubiu near Orroli, Italy dating back to the 15th century BCE (really!). The Sant’Elmo Beach Hotel is a beautiful hotel in the southeast of Sardegna that our travel agency recommended. It is located at Castiadas, Italy and consists of a main building and many small houses arranged in rows behind it. The Cagliari International Airport (CAG) located at Elmas, Italy close to Cagliari is the only international airport of southern Sardegna. It is a rather small airport focused on tourism and using it is pretty easy. The airport has a small selection of souvenir shops, bars and restaurants – but covers all your needs. Once in a while it is time for the traditional British meal – fish & chips. There are obviously many good places in London, United Kingdom for that, but the Golden Union in Poland Street close to Oxford Street has not only a great location but also a nice atmosphere. The Refinery is a bar and restaurant located in the business area Regent’s Place in London, United Kingdom. Therefore it is rather a hint for a business trip and not for holidays. The Hare & Tortoise is a restaurant chain in London, United Kingdom. The Bloomsbury branch is located in the Brunswick shopping centre and you have to look a bit around to find it between the different shops and restaurants. Located in the wonderful Covent Garden Market it is just a tiny shop on the upper floor accessible via a narrow wooden staircase decorated with nice images from this Finnish series.
