The National Gallery of Scotland is a picture gallery in Edinburgh, Scotland – located within the Princes Street Gardens underneath Edinburgh castle. The Wuseum is the Werder Bremen museum located at the Weserstadion in Bremen, Germany. You can reach it through the ticket office on the side of the stadium facing the city – and the guided tours through the stadium end here. It is rather small and you’ll have to be a fan of the soccer club to have fun here.

The Universum is an interactive science museum in Bremen, Germany. It was opened in the year 2000 and offers 250 interactive items on 4000 square meters. The three areas of the exhibition are nature, human, and technology. Attached you’ll find an outdoor area with different items and a tower to climb up.

The Optisches Museum is a science museum in Jena, Germany. It focuses on optical topics – as Jena was a pioneer in these – like photography, telescopes, glasses and microscopes. The Technikmuseum is a technology museum with branches in Sinsheim and Speyer, Germany. You can take a look at old planes, cars, trains, ships, a submarine and a space ship. Most of these vehicles are arranged in a way that you can climb into them and explore them. Continue reading “Technikmuseum”
The cloister in Magdeburg, Germany is located in the city center close to the cathedral and the green citadel. It has a wonderful architecture and a fantastic halation. I’ve been to Amsterdam, the Netherlands many times during the last ten years but I never got the opportunity to explore the Rijksmuseum in its full beauty. On my last trip is was at least partly opened, since April 2013 the renovation works were finished. There are many old mines that can be visited in Germany, especially in the Harz mountains. But the salt mine in Wieliczka close to Kraków, Poland stands out in different dimensions. At first the vast size has to be named; it is somehow like a city under the earth – with a restaurant, a museum and different shops. You can walk around down there for hours.
The Centre Pompidou in Paris, France is one of my favorite museums. It is a unique place for discovering modern art and entertaining every time I’m there. That’s why I was really surprised to find another Centre Pompidou – at Málaga, Spain. It wasn’t inside my guidebooks as it was pretty new: it opened in 2015 and shall be open for five years – the future not yet decided.
