When we were at Uslar, Germany and looking for something to eat I remembered that many years ago I was at the local Bergbräu brewery and they had a good restaurant. But I found no information on the Internet. The first search result was a place briefly named Gollart – the locals’ short name for the Landcafé im Gasthaus Gollart. Indoor and outdoor
If you’re looking for a farmer’s market in the center of Kassel, Germany the Markthalle is the right choice for you. It is located in the former Marstall from 1591 – an ancient horse stable. On saturdays you can find an outdoor market in front of it and inside you can buy from different shops on two levels.

Café Rix
The city quarter Neukölln in Berlin, Germany offers nice places and hidden pearls. The Karl-Marx-Straße (named after the famous founder of Marxism) is a migrant-shaped street where you might not initially feel at home. But in fact it is a wonderfully international place. Continue reading “Café Rix”
Eismanufaktur
Hann. Münden, Germany is a place for day trippers and bicyclists that enjoy the beautiful landscape and the old city center. Therefore the town has some restaurants, coffee bars and also contains some ice parlors. The best in my opinion is located close to the bridge that leads visitors to the Tanzwerder containing the Weserstein. If you’re on this path simply grab some icecream from the Ketty Eismanufaktur. You won’t be disappointed. Continue reading “Eismanufaktur”

The best traditional ice cream parlour in the pedestrian zone is nowadays called “Boutique del Gelato” – but locals know it by two other names: “Dolomiti” or “Cortina“. Breakfast service
Going to church on a sunday morning was never so pleasant than in Hann. Münden, Germany. That is because of a church close to the city center that has been transformed into a coffee bar where you can have a nice breakfast or a piece of cake. It’s quite a strange feeling to dine on an old altar, but this place has its own very special atmosphere.
Stadtcafé Dietrich
There aren’t too many coffee shops in Hann. Münden, Germany where you can enjoy a coffee or a hot chocolate in a modern and cosy atmosphere. The best is maybe the Stadtcafé Dietrich located directly at the central market place of Hann. Münden. Here you can drop in for a nice piece of cake or even a breakfast in the morning. Campus suite
For seven years of my life I was working in different positions for the Studentenwerk in my hometown – an organisation providing social, financial and cultural support services to students. It is partially state funded, students pay a fee every half year and the organization is only dedicated to assist students and provide them with room to live in, food and drinks at the campus and many more necessary things. I really believe that such an organization is necessary and should be supported. Continue reading “Campus suite”
