The Pizzeria Mia is a nice little Italian restaurant in Oberneuland belonging to Bremen, Germany. They have only a limited number of seats but a good menu with good quality dishes. We tried some pizza here which was quite worth the travel time from our hotel.

The Universum is an interactive science museum in Bremen, Germany. It was opened in the year 2000 and offers 250 interactive items on 4000 square meters. The three areas of the exhibition are nature, human, and technology. Attached you’ll find an outdoor area with different items and a tower to climb up.

The 7Things hotel in Bremen, Germany is nicely designed hotel which follows the rule of less is more. The most important feature is that it is directly next to the Universum, an interactive science museum. The rooms are nice and we got a family room with a separated children’s room.

Some cities in Germany have their own events and special times of the year: like Karneval in Cologne, Oktoberfest in Munich or the Canstatter Wasen in Stuttgart. In Bremen it is time for the Freimarkt in the last two weeks of October; always beginning on a Friday. It’s a tradition reaching back to the year 1035 and as the typical limitations and monopolies of markets in the city where revoked within this time frame, the name free market was established.
Weserstadion
The Weserstadion is a soccer stadium on the Peterswerder in Bremen, Germany. It his home to the SV Werder Bremen and one of the last stadiums not having a sponsored name in the first German league. The stadium was opened in 1947 and nowadays has 42.500 seats. Fans of the home team gather at the stands in the eastern part of the stadium, the “Ostkurve“.

Since 2009 I’m proud supporter of my soccer club, the SV Werder Bremen (and since 2020 also lifetime member). The “SVW” is number two in the all-time Bundesliga table and playing at its home stadium, the Weserstadion, in Bremen – close to the city centre at the Osterdeich. I got addicted by trips to different stadiums to see the team play live – and even today it is always a good reason to travel to other cities.
