If you’re bored by the standard junk food of the big burger chains you might give the Marivos Burger-Lounge at Kassel, Germany a try. It is located inside an old gas station from the 1950s at the Kohlenstraße near Bahnhof Wilhelmshöhe. Two brothers and a friend opened the burger restaurant because they knew from bigger cities that buns, patties and fries can be much better when they are home-made.

Getting delicious Indian food at Hann. Münden, Germany is quite an issue. During the last years there was a very good restaurant called Bollywood Palace that set the bar pretty high – but is now closed again. A visit to the restaurant ‘Kleine Konoba‘ (‘small konoba‘) at Kassel, Germany is a short trip to the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. The owners have their roots at Zadar, Croatia and serve the typical cuisine of this region: delicious fish and meat, risotto, pasta, cevapcici (‘cevapi‘), special ham (‘prsut‘) and cheese (for example ‘marinirani ovcji sir‘). Café del Sol
It is a coffee bar and restaurant chain I always had ignored in the past: the Cafe Del Sol. They offer good breakfast, typical drinks and nice food. The restaurant architecture follows the design of southern US-American ranches. And they are always placed near motorways – that is why a passionate user of public transport like me never got close to them.
