It’s a simple but good coffee bar and restaurant close to the central campus of the university of Kassel, Germany. Located at the Gottschalkstraße just 100 meters afar from the main lecture buildings this place is often crowded with students. They offer seats inside but also have a medium size outdoor terrace where you can sit next to the quiet street.

At a street connecting Wilhelmshöher Allee and Königstor – the Hermannstraße (an area of Kassel, Germany where I wouldn’t really expect a bar) – you can find the HermannS. It is a mix of a modern cocktail bar and a folksy inn. They’ve got a rather large outdoor area and you can get good food and drinks.

If you like good views for dinner you can’t miss a visit to the NENI at the Breitscheidplatz close to the railway station ‘Zoologischer Garten‘ of Berlin, Germany. It is serving high-class oriental food in a wonderful atmosphere: through big glass windows you can look over the zoological garden which looks like a forest. Already the mezze request hard decisions: humus or falafel? Or some speciality from Libanon or Marocco?

If you love Indian food you should reserve a table at the Curry Leaf Café in Brighton, United Kingdom. The restaurant located in ship street received many awards over time and was named one of ‘UK’s Best 19 Indian Restaurants‘ by the Olive Magazine. It is a very colourful and well decorated place and if you enjoy spicy dishes this really is your place to be. Already their starters would be enough to get me there – the chicken tikka is fantastic.

Seearena, Hechtsee, Kiefersfelden

Next to the lake Hechtsee in the borderland between Kufstein, Austria and Kiefersfelden, Germany you can find a building which includes all facilities to allow people to use the lake as a giant outdoor pool. This Badeanstalt (swimming baths) carries the name ‘Seearena‘ and also includes a restaurant that is open also for people just walking around the lake and also in winter times.
