The Timberjacks is a new restaurant in the outskirts of Göttingen, Germany – close to the Kasseler Landstraße and the Kaufpark. It is like a Cafe del Sol for meat lovers – totally oriented towards people arriving by car. With plenty of parking lots and even though there is a bus stop close-by there isn’t even a foot path to the restaurant. Continue reading “Timberjacks”
Landcafé Gollart
When we were at Uslar, Germany and looking for something to eat I remembered that many years ago I was at the local Bergbräu brewery and they had a good restaurant. But I found no information on the Internet. The first search result was a place briefly named Gollart – the locals’ short name for the Landcafé im Gasthaus Gollart. Brunch at the river
There are not too many options for a good breakfast in Hann. Münden, Germany. Apart from the Aegidienkirche and the Stadtcafé you might consider the Flux – Biohotel im Werratal as a good location for that. On each first sunday every month they have a great brunch with a specific motto – and you should definitely book in advance. Continue reading “Brunch at the river”

The restaurant “Franks Piraterie” is one of these places I normally wouldn’t go to. It is part of the camping area in Dransfeld, Germany not far away from the outdoor swimming pool of the city. Why to go there? The place was originally named “Tortes Inn” and had mainly the campers as guests. Continue reading “Officially pimped”

Trouts and other fishes
The Gasthaus “Zum Fischer” in Wendefurth belonging to Thale, Germany is one of those places I wouldn’t normally enter. They play German hit songs and the restaurant looks really old-fashioned outside. But if you want to get away from the masses on the Rappbodetalsperre and like fresh fish it is the right destination for you. Continue reading “Trouts and other fishes”
