The Aerodrom Podgorica is the small airport of the capital city of Montenegro. It is located nine kilometers outside of Podgorica, Montenegro and can only be reached by taxi, rental car, and an hourly running bus. But as the costs for a taxi ride to city are about 6 Euros this is pretty acceptable.

The airport of the capital city of Albania is located seventeen kilometers outside of Tirana. It is the biggest airport of the region (which doesn’t mean that it is actually big), has one runway and transports nearly 3 million passengers a year. It was built from 1954 on and was always also used by the Albanian Airforce. In 2003 it was renamed in honor of Mother Teresa who’s parents came from Albania and who is a national hero.

The Cagliari International Airport (CAG) located at Elmas, Italy close to Cagliari is the only international airport of southern Sardegna. It is a rather small airport focused on tourism and using it is pretty easy. The airport has a small selection of souvenir shops, bars and restaurants – but covers all your needs. The Aeroporto Humberto Delgado (formerly Aeroporto da Portela) is the most important airport of Lisboa, Portugal and the main hub of airline TAP. The international airport of Edinburgh, Scotland was opened in 1916 and is located 13 kilometers outside of the city. It has three runways and is the #6 airport in the United Kingdom. It felt quite small and passing by was easy and troublefree. Originally it was a military airport of the Royal Air Force called Turnhouse, the civil usage started in 1947. The airport of Palma de Mallorca, Spain is the only airport on the island of Mallorca. It was opened in 1960 and is also used by the Spanish airforce. It consists of two runways and one terminal divided into four sections. It is located 8 kilometers east of the city and can transport up to 32 million passengers each year. You can reach the city of London, United Kingdom via six different international airports. The most frequented of them is Heathrow – with nearly 75 million passengers a year it is also the sixth largest airport in the world. Heathrow was opened in 1946, has four terminals (2-5, #1 was closed in 2015), is homebase to British Airways and located 24 kms afar from the city center.

The international airport Basel-Mulhouse (brand name “EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg“) is something special: it dates back to 1946, is located in Saint-Louis, France and is operated by two states (France, Switzerland). It is 3,5 km afar from Basel, Switzerland and 20 km from Mulhouse, France. As it has also importance for the south-west of Germany the name of Freiburg im Breisgau was added in 1987.
