Lentoasema

The airport of Helsinki (HEL) is located 18 kilometers north of the city center at a region called Vantaa. It was opened in 1951 for the Olympic summer games and has today three runways transporting more than 4 million passengers a year. Next to the two terminals you can find a large amount of parking lots and the typical car rental companies.

What is best about the Helsinki-Vantaan lentoasema is that it has an excellent connection to Helsinki via trains. When you exit the airport you’ll easily find the entrance to the modern underground railway station which was opened in 2015. Trains leave every ten to fifteen minutes and take around 30 minutes to reach the main railway station of Helsinki (with several stops on their way). You can buy your ticket for tariff zones ABC at the ticket vending machines in the railway station.
