There are some well-known places for fireworks on New Year’s Eve: Paris, France and the Champs-Élysées; Sydney, Australia and its world-famous opera house or the ball drop at the Times Square in New York, United States. Auld Lang Syne
“Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup!
and surely I’ll buy mine!
And we’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne. For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.”

Small, but full of science
People were smirking when I told them that I intend to spend a weekend in Jena, Germany. The city has quite a bad reputation and I must admit that I only went there because one of my favorite bands playing at the F-Haus in the city center of Jena. In the middle of nowhere
I needed a weekend off and decided to go to a place where no one of the people surrounding me had ever gone. Magdeburg, Germany is located somewhere between Braunschweig and Berlin. But then I recognized I had been there 17 years ago for the Bundesgartenschau 1999 in the Elbauenpark. Continue reading “In the middle of nowhere”
Deceleration at Wrocław

That is why wie searched for a flat in the city center and booked the trip. Continue reading “Deceleration at Wrocław”
