The Festwiese is a festival ground in Leipzig, Germany. It is located close to the soccer arena (Zentralstadion) in the West of the city. It is 41.000 m² large and offers enough space for up to 75.000 people. It is used for big outdoor concerts and U2, Michael Jackson and The Rolling Stones already played here. If you are lucky you can get there by streetcar – elsewise it is a 35 minutes walk from the main railway station.
Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ)
Some airports in Germany have not been built because many people want to fly from these places, but mostly because of political reasons – every region wants to have a terminal. This airport was built in 1927 for another reason: air cargo. Located near the cities Halle (Saale) and Leipzig on the ground of the small town Schkeuditz it is the #2 air cargo hub of Germany.

Heart of the revolution

Völkerschlachtdenkmal
The Völkerschlachtdenkmal is a memorial in the southeast of Leipzig, Germany. It commemorates the Völkerschlacht at Leipzig in 1813 – with 600000 soldiers one of the biggest battles in history. Dr. Faustulus party zone
Auerbachs Keller is the second oldest and most famous wine bar in Leipzig, Germany. It is located within the Mädlerpassage and was first mentioned in 1438 CE. From 1765 to 1768 Johann Wolfgang von Goethe studied in Leipzig and got to know the wine bar. Continue reading “Dr. Faustulus party zone”
