Feeling pushed again

The Festwiese is a festival ground in Leipzig, Germany. It is located close to the soccer arena (Zentralstadion) in the West of the city. It is 41.000 m² large and offers enough space for up to 75.000 people. It is used for big outdoor concerts and U2, Michael Jackson and The Rolling Stones already played here. If you are lucky you can get there by streetcar – elsewise it is a 35 minutes walk from the main railway station.

I came here for a great concert of Die Toten Hosen in front of 70.000 fans. The band was having a break and officially only playing two concerts (Zürich, Leipzig) in 2015. It was a wonderful show with songs from three decades – only the infrastructure wasn’t enough for that big amount of people. And because of the city anniversary I only got a hotel in nearby Halle (Saale); a place that was harder to reach then normally because the German railway company stopped all railway traffic at night for reconstruction works. Good timing, guys! 🙂
