Need to refresh yourself? The Vodno mesto Atlantis is a sauna and spa in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is located at the BTC, a shopping and entertainment complex in the eastern part of the city. To get here it is a 40 minutes walk from the city center so you might prefer to take the bus.

What is not obvious while walking through Budapest, Hungary is the fact, that it is a spa town. There are over 100 thermal springs producing water with a temperature between 21 and 78 degrees celsius. Therefore one definitly needs to try one of the spas; the most famous being the Gellért spa and the Széchenyi spa. And after walking around so much in this town this is always a great idea.

The “bo|ra” is a great spa close to the Lake Constance in Radolfzell, Germany. It’s a complex consisting of a hotel, a sauna and a beach area. Its name is a combination of the first letters of “Bodensee” (the German name of Lake Constance) and “Radolfzell“, the city the spa is located in. I came here because I really love Japanese spas and here they’ve built a quite traditional Onsen (hot spring).
Termas Geométricas
I really love spas and saunas; I already tried a lot of those – but the Termas Geométricas close to Coñaripe, Chile ruled everything out. The area around Lago Villarica is full of hot springs because of the four volcanoes around. I was staying at Pucón and surrounded the Volcán Villarrica by car to access this very remote place for relaxation.
Best spa ever
I really like Japanese spas and especially the Onsen which get their water from hot springs. I always check wether my ryokan hotel is equipped with such a place to relax and especially love those places if they are outdoor. Continue reading “Best spa ever”
Electric shocks and three seniors watching TV at the sauna
I like Japanese baths and therefore took the long trip to Funaoka Onsen located in a remote residential area of Kyōto, Japan. I got a towel and managed to find the right way to the men’s locker room and changed my cloth. In the shower I found the first big cultural difference: people sitting on small plastic benches produces soap foam until they are covered in large white clouds.
