The street adress tells everything: Schöne Aussicht, beautiful views. The bar Bolero is situated between the city center of Kassel and the Karlsaue park (directly next to the New Gallery of Art) and there you can enjoy a beer (especially: Astra from Hamburg, Germany), some cocktails or – what seems to be a specialty: good burgers.

Reward yourself

Badeparadies Eiswiese, Göttingen

Named after the god of the sea in Greek mythology, the restaurant Poseidon is part of the Badeparadies in Göttingen, Germany – but it also accessible without getting your swimming trunks on. Before this pool and sauna has been opened at the Eiswiese in 1998, the restaurant was already part of the old public indoor swimming pool in the city center (close to the Leinekanal).

A pit-stop at the Marais

Chez Marianne, Paris

When you walk through the wonderful neighborhood of the Marais – maybe from Place de la Bastille, crossing Place des Vosges (always worth a detour), you will find a lot of good restaurants of various kinds. I myself normally don’t go to classy restaurants while travelling; it costs me simply to much time. A good alternative in the Marais is Chez Marianne, a nice small restaurant in a sidestreet. You can sit outside and if it is too crowded – they also got a comptoir for food to take away.

Expedition to Ethiopia & Eritrea

Restaurant "Abessina", Göttingen

During the last years a lot of bars were coming and going in the Ritterplan. The street is simply a less crowded street without direct access to the pedestrian zone. People don’t come here by accident. But now there is a restaurant that is here to stay: the Abessina, serving food from Ethiopia and Eritrea and thereby closing a gap within the already broad variety of restaurants in Göttingen.

Restaurant “Aresto”

Aresto, Hannover

If you’re looking for a good greek restaurant in Hannover, Germany, you might take a look at the “Aresto” close to the river Leine and the parliament of Lower Saxony. They serve good gyros, souvlaki, fish and lamb, you can sit outside and the place is reachable on foot from the railway station. The menu list is not extensive but the quality is really good.
