The Pousada Corsario in Paraty is like a gated community of small houses next to the river and not far away from the historic city center. The houses are simpel but I really enjoyed lying in my hammock in front of the room. At the time I’ve been in Paraty, there where not many guests and it was a quiet and pleasant stay.

When arriving in São Sebastião, belonging to São Paulo, I was in trouble finding my hotel, the Ilha de Toque Toque boutique hotel. As the name suggests, it might be on an island (ilha). I entered the street adress into my navigation system and was led to a strange place within São Sebastião.

Foz do Iguaçu is a town, built solely for tourism. There is also the giant Itaipu embankment dam, so there are some electrity workers around – but most people in Foz do Iguaçu are living from tourism. The Hotel Pietro Angelo is in the center of the town.

There are many reasons why you should go to Braunschweig. One of them is the beautiful old city center and especially when there is the famous Christmas market, the atmosphere is just great. If you need a middle-class but quite cheap hotel close to the city, the Frühlings-Hotel at the Bankplatz might be right for you. Directly at the end of the bridge you have access to the Hotel Bulwar, an absolutely nice design hotel easily reachable by car. It is no simple harbourage for road runners but a wonderful place to stay.

The Hudson Hotel

The Hudson is a nice boutique hotel fulfilling these requirements.

The hotel Solace in Puerto Varas, Chile is the last overnight stop I made at the country. It is a very nice and plain hotel on a small hill at the center of Puerto Varas. You can easily walk to the city center from here and you’ll have nice views on the city; you’ll have a car park (which is important, as the rest of the city doesn’t offer much parking lots) – and it is very comfortable to explore the city frome here.
Hotel Encanto del rio
The hotel Encanto del rio is a typical and kind of old-fashioned hotel in Valdivia, Chile. Its main features are that it is located close to the river Callecalle, has some public parking lots in front of the hotel and you can easily walk on foot to the fish market (where the river cruises start) and the city center. On this way you will find some spots where sea lions enjoy the sun. I could watch them for hours…
