Ilha de Toque Toque boutique hotel

When arriving in São Sebastião, belonging to São Paulo, I was in trouble finding my hotel, the Ilha de Toque Toque boutique hotel. As the name suggests, it might be on an island (ilha). I entered the street adress into my navigation system and was led to a strange place within São Sebastião.

As it was already getting dark I activated Internet access on my smartphone and accessed their website and the navigation information was simple: At km 143.5 of the road Rio – Santos. I guessed the right direction and at the given point there was a closed gate. What I found behind was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen.

The Ilha de Toque Toque boutique hotel is away from the city and some 100 meters from a fishing village close to a sleepy bay. I had a room with a private terrace, a sauna and a whirlpool. Wakeing up means directly looking at the sea and the green mountains.

From the hotel you don’t have direct access to the beach – you have to walk or drive down to the fishing village. At the end of the road the hotel maintains an own beach supplies area including sunloungers; and this beach is well known for its most beautiful sundowns.
