Hotel Pietro Angelo

Foz do Iguaçu is a town, built solely for tourism. There is also the giant Itaipu embankment dam, so there are some electrity workers around – but most people in Foz do Iguaçu are living from tourism. The Hotel Pietro Angelo is in the center of the town.

The rooms are standard quality and the sliding door (I never had such a thing before) as a hotel room door irritated me pretty much. But the hotel looks nice, you always get sweet coffee at the lobby and there is an outdoor swimming pool which is really great at the high temperatures you typically have there.

Within some minutes walk you can reach the Avenida Jorge Schimmelpfeng, where you can find restaurants and beergardens. Or you take a short walk in the other direction and discover small bars, restaurants and shops at the Avenida Brasil shortly before crossing Avenida República Argentina. A good starting point for visiting las Cataratas do Iguaçu.
