The Maschsee is an urban lake in Hannover, Germany close to the town hall and the soccer stadium. It is 2.4 kilometers long and has been artificially created in the beginning of the 1930s. It is used for sailing and canoeing and it is a nice place for a walk. It was built to protect the city of Hannover from floods that occurred because the rivers of the area have been straightened. It is said that the “Erlebnis-Zoo” in Hannover, Germany is the best zoological garden in Germany – and I would support this ranking. But to enter this place you’ll first have to have a lot of money; the entrance fees are pretty high – already for small children. The Rias Baixas is a Spanish restaurant within the city quarter Linden of Hannover, Germany – close to the old Hanomag plant, once producing railway locomotives, motor lorries and construction machines. It offers food from Galicia; wonderful tapas, fish and meat. And of course some Estrella beer to make the evening complete.
If you are in Hannover, Germany and need to get your head clear you can enjoy a relaxing day in the AquaLaatzium in Laatzen, a small town in the south of Hannover. It offers different saunas, quite good infusions, nice bars and a restaurant and is maybe the best spa in the region.

The Expo Plaza is the open space between TUI Arena (a concert hall and sports venue) and Deutscher Pavillion at the Expo park south east of Hannover. In the year 2000 the World Exhibition (EXPO 2000) took place here and nowadays the buildings and places are used for different purposes.

If you’re visiting a concert in Hannover, Germany, there are a lot of venues you might go to. The MusikZentrum is north of the city center, close to the tracks of the railway. It is a small but good concert hall where you can enjoy different artists.

The Niedersachsenstadion (Stadium of Lower Saxony, also called HDI-Arena or AWD-Arena after current or previous sponsors) is the home stadium of the soccer club Hannover 96 and sometimes also used for other events like concerts. It has been built in 1954 and has 49.000 seats. It was part of the 1974 FIFA World Cup, 1988 European Championship and the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
