Trendelburg

Trendelburg, Germany

The castle Trendelburg is a very well preserved fortification in Trendelburg, Germany; belonging to northern Hesse. It is dating back to the year 1303 CE and is nowadays a place for medieval festivals and fairytale adventures. It is one of the smaller castles of the area but the location near and above the city is pretty fascinating.

Town halls in Germany always seem to be from the 1970s and to be built out of washed-out concrete. The Amavi

Amavi, Göttingen, Germany

This area of Göttingen, Germany was once a black spot: the “Güterbahnhofstraße” was known for just two things – the freight terminal (including cargo-based traffic on road and rail) and the red-light district. Everything changes over time, the area was developed and one of the buildings close to the tracks has been refurbished and now hosts an Italian restaurant, bar and discotheque: the “Amavi“.
