The Smålandet Markaryds älgsafari was the first highlight after arriving at Sweden. Here you can get pretty close to elk and watch them living in the forest. This year we went by ferry to Sweden – with the TT-Line from Travemünde, Germany to Trelleborg, Sweden. Because of potential traffic jams we wanted to go to Travemünde some hours in advance. But what to do if there is no traffic jam? And where to have breakfast on the way back? I dislike to be at the office on my birthday. That is why we decided to go to the Serengeti-Park at Hodenhagen, Germany. If you grew up at Lower Saxony and your parents listened to the radio you know this place – because of its advertisement which is a catchy tune. If you need a long walk through a park and under trees London, United Kingdom offers plenty of options. The green lung of the city is the Hyde Park in combination with the neighboring Kensington Gardens. Together they are even larger than the Principality of Monaco.

One of the essential sights of a first time visit to London, United Kingdom is the home of the queen: the Buckingham Palace. It was built in the year 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham and continuously enhanced afterwards. Often foreign state guests are welcomed here.

The Shard in Southwark, London is the highest building of the United Kingdom. The skyscraper looks like a shard of glass, is 310 meters high and contains 87 floors. It was opened in 2012 and you will find offices, high-class restaurants, a hotel and ten flats within the building. Continue reading “The Shard”
It is known as the Bergwildpark Meißner and as the Wildpark Germerode but don’t be confused: it is only one place. At Germerode, Meißner, Germany you will find a park with wild animals that wait for you getting inside and feeding them. Getting in touch with goats, stags and deer is real fun for children (and yes, for adults as well).
With an allowance of the Bundesopiumstelle a farmer at Meißner–Germerode, Germany has created multiple fields of beautiful opium poppies (containing only a low amount of the drug). You can walk on mulched paths through the poppy fields, learn more about growing poppies and you’ll find numerous photo opportunities.
When leaving the motorway A7 and passing on the Bundesstraße 3 from Hedemünden to Hann. Münden, Germany we observed a small hut in the forest high above the valley of river Werra which must give good views. For a long time we wondered how to get there.

One of the most beautiful views on the rivers running through Hann. Münden, Germany is rather unknown – because it is hidden behind a factory. If you leave the city center and pass under the Pionierbrücke along river Fulda on the Eduard-Wüstenfeld-Weg you can see a spillway where birds rest and search for food.
