Beginning of spring

Shortly before Easter we went to Berlin, Germany to do some sightseeing and visit the family. After some weeks of freezing cold temperatures spring was coming and brought us some sunny days. We checked-in again at the simple but good Sperlingshof at Dallgow-Döberitz and started our visit.

At the first evening we went to the Nepalese and Indian restaurant Yak & Yeti at the Südwestkorso to enjoy dinner and meet a lot of family members. The next day we used for some classic sightseeing and showed the Brandenburger Tor to our youngest one. From there we continued to the Fernsehturm at the Alexanderplatz.

We took the elevator up and watched the city from up above. As it is the highest point in the German capital we really had good views. In the basement of the tower a new miniature world opened: Little Big City. We took a look at the history of the city and pushed ever button available.

Afterwards we wanted to have a pizza at the Italian restaurant at the Sperlingshof – but it was closed as it is on every Monday. That wasn’t bad as we found the nice Trattoria Olio instead. A good location next to the railway station of Dallgow-Döberitz-Döberitz.

On the next morning spring seemed to be already over again. Lots of snow was falling and we were lucky that we had decided to visit the Biosphäre in Potsdam – a tropical greenhouse where we could sit, drink ice coffee and ignore the temperatures outside.

Additionally we went to the Katjes candy factory in an industrial zone of Potsdam. There wasn’t too much to see, just one production line. But we were able to equip ourselves with some gummy bears. On the next morning we had a stop at Karls Erlebnishof for some fun and adventures.

And then we already had to go back home again. A short trip – but a nice and interesting one. I already know what we’re doing next spring!
