Science, Schnitzel & Stephansdom

I received the chance to get to Wien, Austria for a scientific conference at the local university. We had good presentations and discussions – and a nice evening event at the fantastic town hall. During the conference I had only very limited time for sightseeing – mostly in the night.

I took a look at the Hofburg and the Stephansdom, went to the giant wheel of the Wurstelprater, enjoyed a Wiener Schnitzel at the restaurant Figlmüller. We went to the casino – for the first and maybe the last time in my life – even though I had fun watching my colleagues win money in Black Jack and loosing it by playing Poker.

Afterwards I went to the Hundertwasserhaus, the wonderful Albertina and the mumok, took a walk at Schloß Schönbrunn. After a coffee and a cake at the Café Central we returned via the airport in Schwechat. A nice trip that was only some days too short.
