Café Central

One of the most important coffee bars in the world with many imitations around the global: the Café Central in Wien, Austria. It was opened in 1876 and famous guests were Sigmund Freud, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Franz Kafka, Robert Musil and Stefan Zweig.

In earlier days, 250 newspapers in 22 languages were available. 1943 it was destroyed to large extend and had to close, from 1975 it was repaired and is today a tourist magnet. But it is still a very good place for a traditional coffee (if you want to learn the special names) and a good cake; the atmosphere is great!
