I was at London, United Kingdom during the football world championship and the next match was England vs. Colombia. The Shard in Southwark, London is the highest building of the United Kingdom. The skyscraper looks like a shard of glass, is 310 meters high and contains 87 floors. It was opened in 2012 and you will find offices, high-class restaurants, a hotel and ten flats within the building. Continue reading “The Shard”

The Premier Inn is a hotel at terminal 4 of the Heathrow airport in London, England. It is located next to the Hilton airport hotel and connected to terminal 4 by a footbridge. It offers good hotel rooms and as a special feature it has its own Costa coffee bar in the basement.
While travelling I experienced many tough situations – but not a single one was as complicated as coming back from Edinburgh to Germany this time. On Saturday British Airways experienced an electricity outage at their data center resulting in massive IT problems. Therefore most flights from Heathrow and Gatwick couldn’t start.
