The Neckarstadion (today also called Mercedes-Benz-Arena) is home to the VfB Stuttgart and the heart of the Neckarpark – an entertainment area within Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt where the Cannstatter Wasen (a festival in autumn) takes place and you can find various concert halls and museums.

A museum I visit quite frequently is the Städel Museum at the Frankfurter Museumsufer – directly opposite to the city center, next to the river Main. The Städelsche Kunstinstitut und Städtische Galerie (correctly named) houses 3.000 paintings, 1.000 typically on exhibition.

The main railway station of Frankfurt am Main, Germany is a hub I pass pretty often. As it is a large railway station that can be confusing at first, some hints might be useful. An important characteristic is, that the station is one of few dead-end-stations of major cities in Germany; others are Stuttgart, München, Wiesbaden, Leipzig and Kiel.

Named after the Spanish town Salamanca this alternative bar in Göttingen, Germany, is located in the Gartenstraße – a residential area. They serve chorizo, patatas bravas, tapas, Spanish wine and different vegan and vegetarian dishes. The location is a bit shabby as normal for left-wing sites. Not a recommendation for everyone, but a place where you might find me on a Friday evening.

The Frankfurt International Airport can be found 12 km south-west of Frankfurt am Main. It is the biggest hub in Germany and I consider it my airbase. From no place in Germany you can reach so many destinations and nowhere you will find such a high density of flights. The airport is easily reachable by regional and long-distance trains which run from two different railway stations.

The museum from 1902 hosts 50.000 photographies but only 600 paintings, because 1.400 were lost during nazi times.

Okay, there are a lot of good bars in Berlin, Germany – but this one is special: The Booze bar in Boxhagener Straße, close to the Oberbaumbrücke in East Berlin doesn’t need a menu list. It is in the head of the barkeeper and this guarantees best guidance. They call this “Assisted drinking” and it ensures best cocktail choices.
