It is pretty close to the railway and bus stations of Ljubljana and as the name suggests, it is not far to walk to the city center. I used it as a good base station to discover the small town.

It is quite touristic, but if you want to try some traditional Slovenian dishes the Gostilna Sokol in Ljubljana, Slovenia is a good place. They’ve got international menus and have a good variety of national dishes. Check the Kranjska Klobasa (if you’re not a vegetarian).

As the legend says, Ljubljana was founded by Jason and his Argonauts who have slain a dragon here. The bridge is close to the city center and to the amusement street Trubarjeva cesta.

I arrived in Ljubljana, Slovenia by night train. Much before sunrise a Croatian railway employee woke me up, supplied me with a plastic cup of coffee and shortly before 6 am I found myself standing in front of Ljubljana main station. This obscure situation gave me the possiblity to see Ljubljana in a way, most tourists don’t get to see.

Volkswagen, the partly state-owned enterprise tries to make the city more worth living and has therefore built the Volkswagen Arena, home to the (Volkswagen supported) Verein für Leibesübungen Wolfsburg.
