Flughafen Zürich (ZHR)

The airport of Zürich, Switzerland was already opened in 1948 and is located 13 kilometers afar from the city. It has a good connection to the city center – but be reminded that even if you can pay for the ticket in Euro you’ll get Schweizer Franken in return.  Continue reading “Flughafen Zürich (ZHR)”

High speed sightseeing

Paris, France

I’ve been to Paris, France several times as a child, assisting my parents as a translator with my limited knowledge of French. But there were different things I didn’t know by then and I never visited the bunch of art museums within the city. That is why I booked a hotel in Montmartre and returned for a marathon. Jardin des Plantes

Jardin des Plantes, Paris

The Jardin de Plantes de Paris, France is a botanical garden in the center of the city. It always reminds me of Rainer Maria Rilkes poem The Panther – subtitled “in the Jardin de Plantes de Paris“. It is a nice place to hang out in the busy city. Continue reading “Jardin des Plantes”

Impression soleil levant

Metro, Paris

I consider the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris, France a hidden pearl. I love French Impressionism but I never heard about it. It is located a bit remote close to the Bois du Bologne and was opened in 1934 in the villa of the Marmottan family.
