The normal way to cross a river on a bridge is practical but unspectacular. Along the river Weser there are different places where you can use a ferry to get on the other side. In Hemeln, a part of Hann. Münden, Germany you can get over on foot or within your car and you meanwhile also cross the border from Lower Saxony to Northern Hesse.
The ferry goes very frequently and you normally don’t have to wait very long. The price is one Euro per adult and 50 Cent per child – if you’re on foot. On both sides there is a café and restaurant being a highly frequenter meeting point for cyclists and bikers. The one in Hemeln seems to be slightly better, the one in Hemeln is the better viewpoint.
