If you pass the Hoher Meißner mountain in northern Hesse, Germany you can enjoy many interesting places. This can be easily recognized by the vast amount of parking areas and signs telling you which way to take to reach nice spots. It is known as the Bergwildpark Meißner and as the Wildpark Germerode but don’t be confused: it is only one place. At Germerode, Meißner, Germany you will find a park with wild animals that wait for you getting inside and feeding them. Getting in touch with goats, stags and deer is real fun for children (and yes, for adults as well).
With an allowance of the Bundesopiumstelle a farmer at Meißner–Germerode, Germany has created multiple fields of beautiful opium poppies (containing only a low amount of the drug). You can walk on mulched paths through the poppy fields, learn more about growing poppies and you’ll find numerous photo opportunities.
