Amsterdam, The Netherlands is well known to be a good place for a party – and I did this several times in the past. If the people of Den Haag, The Netherlands want to get out of the city and enjoy some time at the beach, they go to Scheveningen – only located 6 kilometers afar from the city center of Den Haag. The miniature world Madurodam is one of the most famous sights in Den Haag, The Netherlands. Behind a dam you can find 300 miniature representations of well-known buildings from The Netherlands. The area is 18000 m2 large and was opened in 1952 to honor George Maduro who died in the concentration camp of Dachau, Germany.

The Mauritshuis is an art museum located in the center of Den Haag, The Netherlands. It has been built from 1633 on as a nobility palace at a lake in the center of the city and serves as a museum from 1822 on. The Dortmunder U in Dortmund, Germany is a skyscraper used as a cultural center. It was built until 1927 as a cellar for the Dortmunder Union Brauerei. In 1994 the brewery moved out and the building was later bought by the city. Continue reading “Dortmunder U”
