Getting to the city center of Göttingen, Germany from the railway station involves a walk through the Goetheallee – an alley named after the poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe where you can learn about the distances of the planets or enter one of the numerous bars and restaurants; like the MonsterCafé.
The street adress tells everything: Schöne Aussicht, beautiful views. The bar Bolero is situated between the city center of Kassel and the Karlsaue park (directly next to the New Gallery of Art) and there you can enjoy a beer (especially: Astra from Hamburg, Germany), some cocktails or – what seems to be a specialty: good burgers.
Well, Offenbach isn’t the most beautiful place in the world. But if you need a beer or a coffee close to the river Main, have the children entertained by a big sandbox and a playground with a ship, the Hafen 2 might be right. The place offers a café, a bar, an outdoor cinema and a concert stage.

Göttingen is a university town where the students account for one fifth of the population – and therefore has the highest bar density in northern Germany. So you have a big variety to choose from, but if it comes to having a nice breakfast or drinking some cocktails there is no way around the Esprit.
The “Zur Kiste” is the oldest wine bar in Stuttgart and lives up to it’s name: A tiny place for maybe 15-20 persons, only one room, but a great atmosphere. Additional to white and red wine from different vineyards of the region you can get Swabian meals like Spätzle, Fleischküchle (meat loafs) or Maultaschen (filled pasta squares).

Named after the Spanish town Salamanca this alternative bar in Göttingen, Germany, is located in the Gartenstraße – a residential area. They serve chorizo, patatas bravas, tapas, Spanish wine and different vegan and vegetarian dishes. The location is a bit shabby as normal for left-wing sites. Not a recommendation for everyone, but a place where you might find me on a Friday evening.

Café do Mar – that sounds like summertime, surfing, sun and cocktails. And that’s absolutely what it is. Sometimes they are making barbecues, but this place is by then absolutely overcrowded. Best come here in the afternoon and enjoy a nice coconut milkshake.

Okay, there are a lot of good bars in Berlin, Germany – but this one is special: The Booze bar in Boxhagener Straße, close to the Oberbaumbrücke in East Berlin doesn’t need a menu list. It is in the head of the barkeeper and this guarantees best guidance. They call this “Assisted drinking” and it ensures best cocktail choices.
