Les Nymphéas

The Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, France is a wonderful museum for impressionist art close to the river Seine. You’ll find it in the Jardins des Tuileries close to the Place de la Concorde. Musée Rodin

Musée Rodin, Paris

The Musée Rodin is one of my favorite art museums in Paris, France. It displays the works of Auguste Rodin and dates back to 1919. You can find important works like the Penseur (the thinker), Les Bourgeois de Calais or the gate to hell here.

The Musée du Louvre in Paris, France is the third biggest and most-visited museum in the world. It is located in the Palais du Louvre and the entrance is underneath a well-known glass pyramid. 10 million people get to this former seat of the French kings each year. Continue reading “The Louvre”

Dom St. Salvator zu Fulda

St. Salvator, Fulda

The Dom St. Salvator is the roman-catholic cathedral of Fulda, Germany. It was built from 1704 on and was inaugurated in 1712. The cathedral is a beautiful church easily reachable from the train station: just walk down the hill through the pedestrian zone and at the university square turn right. You can’t miss this giant house of prayer built in Baroque style.

The airport named after Charles de Gaulle in Paris, France is the most important airport of the French capital city. It was opened in 1974, has three terminals and four runways. It transports 66 million passengers each year.

The Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche (what a long name) is a Protest church in Berlin, Germany that has only partially been repaired and therefore carries the name “Hohler Zahn” (empty tooth). There are different memorials for the soviet soldiers who freed Berlin, Germany in World War II. The best-known ones can be found in Tiergarten close to the Reichstag (West Berlin) and in the Treptower Park (East Berlin). The latter is the most important one.

Bendlerblock

Bendlerblock, Berlin

The Bendlerblock is a section of the building of the Department of Defense in Berlin, Germany. The building was used for the same purpose during Nazi times and it was they place where the group around Ludwig Beck and Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg organized the attack on Adolf Hitler.
