Arco di Tito

The Arco di Tito is a triumphal arc belonging to the Foro Romano in Roma, Italy. It was built in 70 BCE to commemorate Titos conquering of Jerusalem. It is 14,5 meters high, 13,5 meters wide and built from marble.

It shows the triumph of Tito and how his troups bring stolen items from temples in Jerusalem to Roma. The lost Ark of the Covenant including the stones with the Ten Commandments is not included. The arc is still a political issue today; it is said that religious Jews don’t want to pass it and that in World War II it was planned to destroy it.
