It’s no secret that along the river Isar at München, Germany you can find the best places to relax. Close to the Baldeplatz there are nice green areas to sit close to the water, to walk through the shallow parts of the river or to enjoy the faster flow around the Weideninsel (willow island) within the river.
It’s nice to have a clean river inside such a big city where you can swim – that’s quite unusual. At this section you’re not allowed to have barbecues, for that you need to continue towards the Flaucher. The Isar is a 292 kilometers long river that begins in the Alps (at Austria), runs through München, Freising and Landshut and ends at the river Donau close to Deggendorf.
