Flaucher

The Flaucher is a section of the river Isar close to the city center of München, Germany and the Tierpark Hellabrunn. There the river spreads into different arms creating various river islands. It is an area that is used for recreation, for swimming and to have barbecues. In summer it gets pretty crowded but if you’re lucky you can find your own semi-private section here between trees.

The area is ever-changing as the water level is totally different throughout the year. Often you can find section with only a tiny stream of water that are the ideal water playground for children. Across the water a long wooden bridge – the Flauchersteg – connects the city quarters Sendling and Harlaching. In winter as in summer times it is a nice place for a walk if you like to stroll along the water.
