Agravic

The Schwerelos (“Agravic“) is a funny restaurant in the Kugelhaus directly north of the main railway station of Dresden, Germany. The food is good but nothing really special. The highlight of the restaurant is the way how they serve food and drinks: on a rollercoaster-like system through the air.

Drinks (with the exception of beer and coffee, all in bottles) and food (in closed pots) are put in small vessels that are placed on tracks in the kitchen. From there they are transported to a central hub under the ceiling. There an employee plays the switching point and puts the vessels on the correct tracks. They run from there to the target tables – sometimes in loops, sometimes also through loopings.

The receiver than takes the pots and bottles from they tracks and finds plates and cutlery on a rotating plate in the center of the table. Orders can be placed via a tablet PC. A funny idea that is accompanied by fantasy, outer space and star travel decorations. The staff wears Star Trek uniforms. Don’t miss the crème brûlée (named “Triebwerksschaden“).
