Baklava & more

While I was on my way to the Neptunbad in Köln, Germany I found a Turkish eatery where people seemed to have good food on their plates and I decided to return after relaxing at the spa. Then I learned that Damla (a Turkish female name by the way) is a Baklava store – and the delicious warm food only an addition.

Two Turkish guys learned from childhood on how to produce this sweetie (famous in Turkey and throughout the Middle East) in the perfect way. Then they came to Germany and opened three stores in Köln. In the front part of the restaurant the family of the owner was sitting with some guests and in the rear some Turkish people enjoyed their evening.

I took a seat and chatted with the Turkish employee who was speaking perfect German in the local slang of Cologne. I decided against the omnipresent Döner and ordered a fantastic Lahmacun (Turkish pizza) and some Mantı (Turkish ravioli) – also surprisingly good. A nice atmosphere and delicious food; this place will stay on my list.
