The Hohes Gras (‘high grass‘) is a mountain near Kassel, Germany with a height of 614 meters. On top you can find a restaurant with a beer garden – the Waldgaststätte Hohes Gras – and a 30 meters high tower from the year 1888. You can climb up the stairs but most often the trees surrounding the tower don’t allow good views. In summer many people get here because it is a good starting point for hiking.
From here you can also easily reach the Herkules monument or the Elfbuchen tower. From these two points different paths lead down back to the city. In winter the area is used for a different purpose: not far away from the tower there is a slope and a ski lift. Different sections are dedicated for skiing and sledding. You can reach the Hohes Gras by car and by bus: from the tramway station Druseltal bus 22 takes you up the hill. It stops approximately 350 meters afar from the tower and restaurant.
