It’s a nice idea you can find nowadays in many German cities: people get together on a public place to have breakfast together and collect donations. At Hann. Münden, Germany the Spendenparlament organizes the Bürgerfrühstück and for every table they receive 50 Euros which they use to support projects and organizations within the city.
Many organizations but also families participate in this and decorate their tables – the most beautiful win a bottle of sparkling wine. In 2018 it was the 8th Bürgerfrühstück at Hann. Münden, the rolls have been sponsored by the Stadtbäckerei & Konditorei Mengel and the event has been support by the Sparkasse.
As the weather conditions were bad in the morning the breakfast happened not outside – as originally planned – but in the big assembly hall of the old town hall. A wonderful place for an event like this and a good reason to get together!
