The B&B Hotel Göttingen-City is a new hotel near the center of Göttingen, Germany and it was the first hotel I booked at my birthplace – for my bachelor party. It is located at the old railway freight area on the grounds of the former turning platform; maybe that is also the reason for its round shape.
It is a cheap but good design hotel with free parking lots, free Sky television and a reduced but sufficient breakfeast. It can be easily reached on foot from the main railway station and it is an easy walk to the city center or the university. In front of it you’ll find an old graveyard turned into a nice park, on the backside there are the railway tracks – but I didn’t hear any trains at night.
Close-by is also the Amavi, a nice Italian restaurant and bar. The hotel offers online check-in: you can enter data and pay via credit card or PayPal. When your room is ready you get your room number and access code by mail. The access code has to be used at night at the front door, within the elevator and at your room door. Check-out becomes unnecessary that way, too.
