The airport of Hannover, Germany is located on the grounds of the city of Langenhagen situated 10 kilometers north of the capital of Lower Saxony. It was opened in 1952, has three runways and four terminals (A to D) and transports eight million passengers each year.
The airport seems to be rather small and is good connected by motorway and S-Bahn – if you don’t travel as early as we did. If you want to park at the airport, book in advance. We booked at the Maritim airport hotel which wasn’t cheap but from their garage it is only 50 meters to the terminal.
Baggage check-in and security checks were fast and easy in the morning hours. Orientation was simply. A good place to easily start a family vacation.
